A series of unfortunate events

Ole! Ole! Ole!

So this last Friday my work sponsored a soccer challenge for the City of Renton. It was put on for kids from ages 4-13. It was actually pretty fun cause aside from my niece and nephews, I really haven’t spent much time around kids in quite a few years. We were there mostly to inform parents on injury prevention and any other questions they may have had. And seeing as I have absolutely no knowledge in any of that I was there mostly for moral support…and cause my life is lame and I don’t do a whole lot these days. So I got roped into reffing one of the events. Actually it was the easiest event to ref. It was a speed test for dribbling. All I had to do was use my handy little stopwatch the City issued me for the event and time how long it took for the kids to weave through 5 to 10 cones, depending on age, and back with the soccer ball. And of course look awesome doing it! But the really sad part was that probably every single one of those kids could have annihilated me in the drill! Hence why I never played soccer as a child. Still it was a fun time cheering the kids on as they did their drills and won awards. Then in addition, each kid that participated got a schnazzy water bottle from yours truly, Renton Sports and Spine Physical Therapy! Aren’t you jealous?!

Weekend in the Wenatch

So yet again I have found myself going stir crazy and needing to get away for the weekends. So this time around Andrew helped me out with the escapade. Andrew is awesome cause he looks like James Franco. Well that's not really the only reason he is awesome, but hey it doesn't hurt any! However I will tell you now Wenatchee is no where as awesome as Portland. Sorry Andrew. It's small and its podunk. And its not very green. Anyway it was still fun cause we just hung out and relaxed all weekend. Rented movies, listened to music, went swimming and napped...a LOT! I love naps and really never get enough cause of all the working. Working is so overrated! I vote peoples should just give me money. That would be awesome! But yeah anyhow I am actually excited cause I am headed back that way this weekend for Dave Matthews and wakeboarding! Yeah buddy! So here's to you Andrew for all the aiding and abetting!

One Sexy Beast

So I'm really not that good at keeping this thing updated seeing as I don't have internet except at work cause I am to lazy to go buy a wireless card for my compy. I actually have yet to hook up my compy at my new residence....not that I really need to spend anymore time on a computer seeing as I spend about 50 hours a week on one for work purposes. Good times. So gradually I am going to try and post old events in my life as to keep peoples (aka Jacko) updated on said events.

So this loverly post here will be about my new ride! So I've been wanting to get a new car for a long while now or at least when I had to go back to driving it after the mazda. Now my old car which was a buick century was and can only be described as a grannymobile. It drove nice and what not and was very spacious, but at the cost of being as freakin huge as a tuna boat! But I kept it around for so long cause it was just more financially advisable seeing as I had no car payments and has always been in pretty good working order...for the most part. Windows are really overrated anyhow eh. But as was I, I decided it was time I did the same and bootkick things of my past to the curb and get the vehicular I have been wanting for years now. And what better time than when the choice is now all mine again. So this last memorial day I went and picked up my new sexy beast of a truck.

It's a black 2000 Nissan Xterra 4x4...
Complete with brush guard...
18" Rims...
And of course a DVD player.Ya know...just the necessities.
Yeah Buddy! Like I said ...one sexy beast!

Masters, Mates, & Pilots

So this weekend the boys (aka Billy and Will) played another show this weekend. It's Will's band called Masters, Mates, & Pilots. Billy has just been standing in as a bassist until they found one on a permanent basis. Which yay for them, they finally did. I believe he is a good sir by the name of Seven. Yeah no joke. Haven't yet met Mr. Seven. I'm sure he is great. Anyway, the boys played the Mars Bar in Seattle. I tagged along with Billy and Will as the "manager/roadie." Mostly manager though cause, lets face it I can't carry most that crap with these weakly arms...ahhh sadness. Any which way I took a massive amount of pics for Billy since he is usually the one behind the camera and rarely gets a pic of himself playing.

Oh yeah and my new coworker Annie came to the show too. She's a cutie and a heaven sent as she is a single workaholic with no life much like myself! Yay for Annie!

As did Jefe. He is awesome. But I didn't get a pic of him. But here is a pic of me and Andrew. He is a friend of Will's. Andrew is also a cutie! Also the first person to ever steal my phone number. Yeah so that was my weekend. Great music and not enough sleep! I think I finally rolled in home around like 2am...yay! Well check em out at www.myspace.com/mastersmatesandpilots. They are probably one of the most talented local bands I have ever heard!

Memories

Here are the directions:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you.
It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Random Bits of Nothingness

So not a whole lot has been going on lately but the little that has been going on has been full of random awesomeness! So first off I will tell you of one of the best presents I have ever been given, second really only to getting a pony for christmas one year when my sibs and I were just wee little tikes! Yeah thats right, I was one of those kids that their Daddy spoiled...ok not really, but yeah a pony and you are jealous. But really this present rocks! Billy gave me my very first guitar which just so happens to be a stratocaster! Wee-ooh! Allbeit's no Fender and only a Behringer, still a freakin strat and its mine! Not to mention it is one sexy beast! So that was awesome! Thanks Billy!

A few weeks back I was meandering the Bellevue Square Mall with a friend I pretty much freakin miss all the time, and came across the Martin Lawrence Art Gallery. They were having an auction and within the list of paintings for auction I found my new favorite painting that I totally want! Nevermind that it is going for over $9000...perhaps I can get Painted With Oil to recreate it for me! But yeah I just love the colors and how they flow. The painting is called Transcend and the artist is Deborah Paswaters out of California. All her paintings are pretty amazing including some she did for the 2005-2006 Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Life in Bloom series. Just beautiful.

So I pretty much have like the most amazing boss in the world! He has been a great friend and support through the "rough patches" in my life....to put it lightly. Very very understanding for which I will forever be greatful! Anyway this last week was Administrative Professionals Day! Yay! Which I hope you all thanked the admin people you work with for all they do cause I know you have no idea how much we do until we aren't there to keep the place running! I know we make it look easy! Anyhow, I had totally forgotten it until in came this gorgeous bouquet of all sorts of flowers just for me! Just a little thanks from the staff. Hehe which half of them didn't even know about! So thanks for all the appreciation and support Joel! So then just to get out for the evening Robyn and I went to The Cheesecake Factory to celebrate! Good night! their food is wicked tasty and the cheesecake! Oh the cheesecake is to die for! We even bought a piece to take home and eat later!

I have also been getting out a bit more thanks to the help of Orit and Matt's friend Jeff. Although from here on out he will be known as Jefe cause that is how he got entered into my phone and I really like it much more. So we went somewhere near north Seattle and saw a few different bands play and a couple places there. First we saw a really poppy punk band by the name of the Cute Leopards. They were pretty good to hear in a local scene but not anyone I would rush back to see again given other choices. The next band we saw was way awesome! They are outta Bellinham and go by the name of Yogoman Burning Band. If you like the music stylings of Sublime and 311 and whatnot you will love these guys! They are excellent musicians and do an amazing job vocally of harmonizing! Not to mention their bass player is a chick with a great set of pipes! So they have her, a guy on guitar, a guy on drums and three more on the sax, the trombone and the trumpet. Yeah I totally am going to buy their cd! Makes me remember how much I loved the local music scene in Arizona and how much I miss the feeling of having your head in a fish bowl when you leave!

And to top it all of yesterday my coworker Richard gave me my Bestest Cd...or so the cd says! Hehe! He has great taste in music so I've been wanting him to make me a mix and he did not let me down! Thanks Richard! I love it! And by far I love that the first line on the first song which is a guy saying "I can ride my bike with no handle bars, no handle bars, no handle bars!" Yeah I don't know, I just love it! The Flobots. Pretty sweet. Yeah and so that concludes my ramblings for the night. I need to go undo the tape job Orit did on my knee cause my body rocks and decided my knees needed to cause me pain this week. Yay...not to mention I hear it can be quite the process to remove Endura Fix and Tape. Removing it too fast can also aide in removing your skin...good times. Have I ever mentioned how much Orit is my hero!?! Yeah she is always fixing me. The best is when my back is killing and she will do Advanced Strain Counter Strain! It's her barely touching me on either side of the spine in certain places that allows the deep muscles to release and hence letting the spine go back into alignment! Amazazing!
