Spring Fever

So spring finally seems to be wanting to arrive. Its about time too cause I am so sick of the cold and being couped up. So Soren made me go running with him a couple weeks ago and surprisingly I have tried to keep it up and have been running a circuit of 2.5 miles around my neighborhood. The first time I ran it by myself I think I ended up going about 3 miles cause I kept getting lost in my neighborhood. I know. I am awesome. But in my defense the neighborhood does wrap around a golf course and makes it all twisty and turny and you end up having intersections of 160th Ave and 160th Pl. Not cool. But then this week I'm taking a little break from the running cause it decided to rain again and it would have been more like takin a swim. Not to mention like a cool person I pulled my groin muscle doing a cartwheel. Not cartwheels, but cartwheel...as in one. Special.

I'm way excited for the summer too! More sun please. And with summer comes softball season. So I'm all certified to umpire and whatnot but I'm not sure I really want to now. Soren and his friend Matt talked me into joining their softball team. We are the Red Hookers. Hehe. Yeah we are sponsered by Red Hook beer. Everyone has nicknames and what not for their shirts. Most the guys picked names from Will Farrell movies and what not. Soren is Night Hawk and Matt is Dragon. And since I am from Idaho and the boys decided I must know everything about potatoes. (They even put me in charge of cooking them for a bbq we had. I however had to call my madre for directions on how to bake a potato. Hehe). So they tried to name me Spuds. I nixed that one real quick like. There for ending me up with the name I-da-hoe. Eh. It works. So we've had practice a few times and the team has some fun peoples. Not the greatest talent pool, but at least I can hold my own. Especially for not playing in many many years. Hey at least it gave me an excuse to finally buy my own glove. GI Joes is going out of business so they had a nice sale and I was forced to go drop a chunk of change on some gear! Weeooh.

Yay for summer and here's to a nice new tan!

And This Makes 13 Moves

So after almost a year of living with my coworkers mom, I decided it was move or pull out all my hair. Just tired of not having enough space, especially of my own. So I went and looked at a place this last Saturday and decided it was perfect and will now be moving across the valley into a new house. It's owned by a guy named Soren, who seems like a really chill guy. I will pretty much be renting his basement, so now I will have my room, my own bathroom and my own living area. I will have to share his kitchen but like I said he is cool so it will be nice to have someone to talk to that is a little bit closer to my age. Not to mention the sweet setup of his massive big screen tv! Oh and the added bonus that the laundry room is right next to my bathroom so I wont have to venture thru anyone's room anymore to do my laundry. Sad to say but laundering has severly lacked because I try to avoid being home as much as possible. Which really isn't fair to Atlas at all. So this is great for him now too cause he will have run of the basement when I am not home instead of the tiny room he is locked up in currently while I'm not home. So all he gets to do is sleep and eat and that just makes for one pudgy kitty. Plus Soren has a cute chocolate lab name Godiva that Atlas will have to play with now! I think he has really missed Takoda since we moved out of my coworkers place. The only thing I'm not excited for is the actual moving of all my crap. Sadly my kitchen will remain boxed up but at least I get my table, chairs and couch back!

On another note, I will also be starting yet another job this year, since I have to get his debt paid off somehow. So I just started the process of getting certified to be a softball umpire for King county. I think it will be a great thing since I have a lot of time I need to fill to keep my mind occupied and off of other things...Plus most of the friends I have made here are all moving on to other things in their lives and will be moving away and what not. Which is good for them, but I will miss them lots. Plus I will be making at least $25 a game, since I think I will stick with slow pitch until I get more comfortable with the rules. So that will make for three jobs this year! Woohoo! All the other people training are these old men that seem like pretty big crack ups so I am way excited and think it will be a great experience!

Then this week end I am headed back to Vancouver to visit the Parental units cause its an extended weekend and Tonya's B-day today. And Tonya is going to be my hot valentines date, since I am severly lacking in that department. We are going out for sushi! Mmmm! I know you are jealous! K so this is a pretty massive blog, but I guess pretty overdue seeing as the last one I posted was in December. Oh well. One day shortly I will have myself laptop and wont have to do these at work anymore...shhhh dont tell!

Just Words

This. This is my temple that has no religion. Peace built of words upon a page. Wrapped in the cover of color. Splayed upon the wall. Stacked with neighbors of alphabet. Mingling with siblings of genre. Transporting to worlds without demension. Titles whispering of hope, shouting of conflict. Yet not a sound issues from stitch of binding. This. This is my temple that has no religion.

Girls Night Out

So after a girls night in what could possibly be better than a GNO? So Carey, Sam and Sojin whipped out our mad bowling skills and took to the alley. So here is just a smathering of pics from the night brought to you by Carey's camera. Oh yeah and the guy workin there was totally diggin us cause lets face it, we were really the coolest peeps there. true story. Yeah he totally wanted us. He even came over and offered to take pics of us. So he went out between the lanes and got some classic shots. enjoy.

And it wouldn't be awesome bowling without gutter spins! Our lane totally got a good polishing! So here are some beautimous gutter spins..with style!

And then on to more random awesomeness.

What can I say...I love me some Carey!Bowling Shots!

The end.

Girls Night In

So this last weekend Brandi and I decided we needed some girlie time, so Friday night we had a sleepover at her parents house with her little sister Bailey. So what's better than junk food, a girlie flick and pedicures!?! Well for my b-day this year my sister Jayme got me a foot spa set from Mary Kay, and of course this is not fun to do by one's self so I waited til Brandi and Bailey were both available. It took a few months but oh well it was way worth it! So we camped out in her parents bathroom for the next hour or so doing pedicures and listening to the Wicked soundtrack. Totally need to go see that now! So here are some pics of the awesomeness that took place.
This is a foot masque we put on our feet to exfoliate and whatnot. It made our feet really cold and they felt cold for the rest of the night. Whenever we walked on carpet it felt like the carpet was wet. It was crazy weird.
After we put on the masque, Brandi decided she wanted her camera to take pics, which just so happened to be downstairs. So she crawled the whole way as to not get the masque on the floor. Quite hilarious to watch!
Then for the final touches, the nail polish! Oh how pretty!
We then got in our jammies and moved camp to the theater room and watched Baby Mama, which seemed quite appropriate with a wee little one on the way, as you can clearly see in the pics! Brandi you are adorable! Cutest pregnant woman ever, even if you look like a knocked up teenager! :)

Halloween...a little overdue

So for Halloween this year we all decided to dress up at work. This is the first time I think anyone really had but my coworker Annie really really wanted to so we did. So I decided I needed a costume that required minimal effort but was still amazingly awe inspiring. Ok so it probably wasn't that but still pretty freakin sweet and creative. I dont think I have even seen anyone dress up like me before. Originally I was going to be a ladybug cause then I could wear normal clothing then just have a shell of some sort on the back. But that brought me back to the minimal effort part and ladybug not so much minimal effort. So then this ingenious idea popped in my head. But Annie pretty much took the cake with her homemade version of an octopus!

And no I am not a dice. Does it look like I have 6 sides!? Seriously people. Not too shabby for cutting out felt circles and taping them too me. Like I said...minimal effort.

Well after work I headed to a dance party thingamajig out at some barn. And I'm not going to lie, compared to the parties I used to work for Travis this was LAME. And thats an understatement. Sad but true. There were maybe a hundred people here and at Travis' parties there was close to a thousand, if not more. I think he said last year there was about 1500. Oh how I miss AZ. But I still had a blast hangin with my girls Carey and Claire, who were stunning as Carmen Sandiego and Supergirl, respectively. There are pictures of these events, but not currently in my possession, so when I get those I will post them up for ya!

Labor Day, Wakeboarding and Dave

So I have been getting the 3rd degree about not updating this thing often enough so its actually like 7 am on a saturday and of course I'm awake. I don't know why, all I know is that it sucks and I should by all rights still be asleep like a normal person that loves to sleep in. But alas my body hate me and sleep decided it hates me these days and we dont hang out much anymore. So I thought to myself, hey self lets do some blogging. So let me tell you a little story about Labor Day weekends, wakeboarding and Dave.

So Andrew invited me out to the Snatch again for the weekend. This time I went with his aunt, Annie. Its kinda weird calling her that though cause she is actually younger than both myself and Andrew. But anyhow, so we drove over together, which really the most hilarious part was that when we were between exits, Annie decided that she really had to use the ...facilities and that she couldn't wait for another exit so we took the next turn off and she popped squat in a bush! I was dying! So then we continued on and got into Wenatchee and headed to the "Logamahal." This abode so coined by Andrew is actually the house of some good friends of their family and it is HUGE and looks like a log mansion! Rick and Nancy have two teenage boys and are all super nice people. But the house is beautiful and sits right on the lake, complete with swimming pool, hot tub, every electrical amenity a house could possibly want including theater room, a boat and jet skis and a lot more I'm not listing here. Anyhow so we hung out for the night, played some pool, went for a swim then turned in for the night. But not before I had to have Rick kill a nasty huge spider in the bathroom so I could take a shower, which he squished with a chip he had in his hand...ewww.

The next morning Nancy was kind enough to make us breakfast then we headed out on the boat for a little wakeboarding! Sadly I didn't get any pics boarding cause I forgot the camera. But it was great cause I haven't been since I moved from AZ, which puts it at about three years now! Way too long! And of course my body was feeling it the next couple days.

So then we headed back cause Rick, Nancy and the boys were heading to their own concert thing. So Annie, Andrew and myself hung out by the pool for a few hours.
Then went for a quick stint on the jet skis. Then we got ready and jumped in Nancy's Mercedes to head to the Gorge for a little Dave Matthews concert! It was a bit frigid but totally worth it! They also did a memorial for LeRoy who had just passed away a few weeks back.
All in all it was a pretty awesome weekend! Thanks yet again Andrew for an escape!
